The Star of David has a wonderful meaning,

Star of David is a symbol of salvation which will come through the Messiah.and The Star of David is the historic icon/symbol for the kingship of David. The prophets had written that the Messiah would come from the lineage of David.

Lets see what the bible said about it,

Numbers 24:17-19 (NIV) 

 "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near.

 A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth. 18 Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong. 19 A ruler will come out of Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city."

Mattew 2:2 

Saying Where is He that is born King of the Jews for we have seen His star in the east and are come to worship Him

The Star of David is and can only be the "sign" for YESHUA.
